The Performance Engineering team carries critical responsibilities within IT, performing essential functions that support all of IT and our business. They must be proactive against potential production issues and consult and collaborate with architects and developers to create stable, healthy applications and infrastructure. Also, they are responsible for using cutting-edge monitoring tools for solutions and, at times, providing support on outages and application analysis with our development teams.  

 

Our Performance Engineers are expected to act as a technical resource that supports the stability of our systems and infrastructure—participating in every development lifecycle stage, from analysis and design to testing, release, maintenance, and program coding, while adhering to current System Development Methodologies (SDM). Knowledge of various web development languages, performance testing, and experience identifying trends and areas of concern with scalability and consistent system uptime for a higher quality of incident management.  

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Act as a consultant with internal team members to identify performance issues.
  • Assess system performance and scalability.
  • Collect and report performance metrics from test executions to all of IT.
  • Provide internal teams with code solutions and present the solution to them.
  • Document, train, and develop better processes to coach internal developers.
  • Work with different products to help define KPIs and benchmarks and set up tests to measure and maintain them.
  • You accompany software projects from draft through implementation and production release.
  • Able to problem solve and communicate these to leadership with data.
  • Identify product performance issues during new product development.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

Must Have Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in application development and performance testing. 
  • Highly skillful in scripting and programming with C#, ReactJS, Razor, and JavaScript
  • Understanding relational databases and using SQL to query, modify, and create database items.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills and experience developing performance testing strategies and processes. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a drive to learn new technologies.
  • Proven ability to drive cross-team technical discussions and decision-making with a proven understanding of SDLC concepts.
  • Understand System architecture, carry out root cause analysis of complex performance issues, analyze results and recommend solutions.
  • Strongly self-driven and internally motivated. 
  • Experience using Jira.

 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering.

  • Experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Splunk, BigPanda, etc.
  • Experience with Azure.
  • Able to understand regression testing scripts. 
  • Project Management skills.
  • Experience with Agile software development (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Knowing how to use Puppet.
