Corporate Counsel

The Corporate Counsel will be working with all the teams in the Company to provide assistance in implementing the Company’s Compliance Management System. 

• Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer, Director of Regulatory Affairs, and the Compliance Team in implementing the Company’s Compliance Management System

• Providing guidance on compliance questions to business units

• Applying compliance knowledge to the Company’s business processes to ensure processes are compliant

• Serving as a subject matter expert for the Training Team to assist in rolling out compliance trainings

• Drafting memos relating to regulatory compliance, product offerings, company changes that impact the Compliance Management System

• Analyzing data to ensure the Company’s Compliance Management System is working properly

• Assisting in drafting responses to internal audits and other due diligence reports

• Assisting in addressing potential weaknesses with the Company’s Compliance Management System

Must Have Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate with valid Bar license for the state of Michigan.
• Strong Work Ethic and Positive Attitude 
• Excellent writing skills 
• On-site attendance is required 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification preferred 
• 2 years of Mortgage industry knowledge is preferred
