The Mortgage Operations Team at UWM plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of mortgage loans from application to closing. This team is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities that support our lending services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. The Operations Team works collaboratively with various departments to streamline processes, improve operational efficiency, and maintain high standards of accuracy and quality. This team is made up of three teams: Lending Support, Closing, and Post-Closing.  

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

LENDING SUPPORT TEAM:

This team provides critical support throughout the mortgage lending process, ensuring that all aspects of loan origination, processing, and servicing run smoothly and efficiently. Lending Support works closely with various departments to facilitate loan transactions, address operational challenges, and enhance overall service delivery.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Assisting in the initial setup and processing of loan applications, including data entry, document collection, and verification to ensure all necessary information is accurately captured.
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases related to loan transactions, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for reporting and analysis.
  • Offering exceptional support to clients, brokers, and internal teams, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring a positive experience throughout the loan process.

 

CLOSING TEAM:

This team is responsible for managing the final stages of the mortgage loan process, ensuring that all necessary documentation is prepared, reviewed, and executed accurately and efficiently.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Preparing and verifying all necessary closing documents, including the Closing Disclosure, loan agreement, and other required forms, ensuring they are accurate and comply with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Ensuring all closing activities adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, as well as UWM’s internal policies and procedures.

 

POST-CLOSING TEAM

This team is responsible for managing all activities that occur after a mortgage loan has been closed and funded. This team ensures that all final documents are accurately processed, recorded, and delivered to the appropriate parties.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Preparing and submitting final loan documents to investors, government agencies, and other relevant entities within specified timelines.
  • Managing the delivery of loan files to investors, ensuring that all required documents are included and meet investor guidelines.
  • Continuously evaluating and refining post-closing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve overall service delivery.
  • Attending regular CI (continuous improvement) trainings.

 

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2025 or 2026 (current junior/senior status)
  • The ability to work Monday thru Friday, 40-hours a week, fully on-site in Pontiac, MI from the end of May to mid-August
