The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Mortgage Servicing will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the mortgage servicing department. The AVP will ensure that all mortgage servicing activities are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of mortgage servicing, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in processes and customer service.

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Provide leadership and direction to the mortgage servicing team, including performance management, coaching, and development of staff.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment that encourages team collaboration and professional growth.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the mortgage servicing department, including loan payment processing, escrow management, customer inquiries, and loss mitigation.
  • Ensure all servicing activities are compliant with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Stay current with industry regulations, guidelines, and best practices related to mortgage servicing.
  • Ensure the department's practices are in full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including RESPA, TILA, and CFPB guidelines.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate compliance reviews and audits.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by addressing escalated customer issues and complaints in a timely and effective manner.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Utilize technology and automation to streamline servicing processes and improve accuracy.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the performance of the mortgage servicing department, including key metrics and trends.
  • Conduct analysis to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address any issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Compliance, Risk, and IT, to ensure alignment of goals and effective implementation of initiatives.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop and execute the strategic plan for the mortgage servicing department.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree preferred or a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in mortgage servicing, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage servicing regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in mortgage servicing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
