Instructional Designer I

Our Training team supports one of the fastest growing areas within UWM, which houses the start of creating some of our most talented team members. This team supports our members at UWM and engages with every new team member to the company. Our Instructional Designer will partner with all teams to provide necessary trainings or materials to team members. We need a rock star candidate who can dig deep with business leaders to determine training needs then create a plan to accomplish those training needs. The Instructional Designer I will be expected to create and maintain training material and process documentation through the use of programs within the Microsoft suite such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. The designer we’re looking for should communicate at a very high level and possess advanced writing and computer skills.


  • Partnering with Training team members and Business Leaders to develop training that meets the needs of the company, teams, and learners
  • Designing and developing several different trainings for various roles throughout the organization by creating course designs, job aids, participant guides, and PowerPoints
  • Creating assessment tools to measure the knowledge of the learner at the end of the training, engagement of the class, and performance
  • Seeking training evaluation and feedback to continuously improve training programs and material
  • Developing content including technology announcements, surveys, and more
  • Analyzing metrics to identify additional training opportunities
  • Acting as a backup to trainers for facilitating Initial, Ongoing, and Continuous Improvement training for various roles, if needed


  • Proficiency with CBT software (ie. Vyond, Captivate, WalkMe) 
  • Strong technical writing skills 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Results-oriented, with the ability to complete assignments on time and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Ability to explain complex information in clear, concise terms
  • Strong collaboration with team members and business leaders
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Actively seek coaching and feedback
  • Maintain a positive attitude and exude confidence
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Strong internal client service skills
  • Approach tasks, projects, and leader requests with a “Yes Mentality”
  • High School Diploma
  • Onsite attendance is required


  • Previous training experience
  • Experience as a Content Developer
  • Proven track record of implementing the ADDIE process and Kirkpatrick
  • Experience with Adobe Programs such as InDesign and Captivate
