Product Owner- Compliance

As the Product Owner for Compliance, you will be working with other Product Owners on the compliance team and various business units to create the best solutions for our required Compliance regulations.  You will be analyzing and identifying opportunities to improves current processes and working with IT to ensure we are working efficiently and effectively.


  • Collaborating with the other Product Owners on all projects that involve compliance-related activities
  • Collaborating with various business teams to determine the best approach for implementing controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws
  • Engagement and knowledge of other business area(s) to be able to provide project ideas, discuss minimum viable product (MVP), and prioritize with stakeholders
  • Working with Architecture/Project Lead to determine project size, alternative solutions
  • Identifying minimum viable product value for the end-user
  • Engaging other Product Owners to know how other project impacts to existing compliance controls
  • Understanding and/or determining the business value for every initiative
  • Clearly expressing and delivering the business value, “the why,” behind the project to the Compliance Business Partnership Development Team
  • Providing the Compliance BPT with timely information and decisions around project vision
  • Participating in all Scrum Events, to provide the necessary feedback or direction
  • Stand-ups – listen to the team to see how items are progressing, provide any added benefit to help clear a roadblock
  • Planning – Set clear priorities to the team and have an understanding of what the team is committing to you
  • Grooming (Project Meetings) – Discussing project breakdowns in terms of MVPs, providing business knowledge to the team, collaborating
  • Review/Demos – provide feedback early and often to the team around project-specific changes
  • Retrospective – Listening to the team, expressing areas for opportunity, celebrating the victories, and focusing on improving for the next sprint
  • Effectively communicating different messages to different stakeholders at any given time regarding your initiatives, awareness of roadblocks, milestones, releases etc..
  • Coordinating the necessary training with the Compliance Training Team as well as the training teams that support other teams that might be impacted by fee changes


  • Minimum of 1 year mortgage experience or prior experience in IT or as a Product Owner
  • Must possess a strong knowledge of policies and procedures
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to effectively communicate both written and verbally
  • High School Diploma
  • Onsite attendance required
