Instructional Design Specialist

The Instructional Design Specialist will, alongside the United Wholesale Mortgage Training Teams, fully develop, implement and follow up on training curriculums as well as individual training courses that serve the needs of our business channels. The Instructional Design Specialist will be responsible for owning these training curriculums and courses from start to finish; fielding requests from business channels, conducting needs analyses, designing & developing courses from the ground up, working with facilitators to implement the classes, evaluating content, content developer performance, and following up with business channels to ensure training outcomes were met.


  • Audit training course designs and materials.
  • Manage & maintain audit/evaluation processes and measurements.
  • Developing new ILT & CBT courses and curriculums for any training channel
  • Evaluate training classes, designs, and learning materials.
  • Provide feedback to trainers and developers and conducting needs analysis
  • Creating course designs for requested training
  • Creating job aids for requested training
  • Assisting the Training Team Content Developers with creating courses for their business channels.
  • Collaborate with Training Leaders and Training Team members to deliver relevant and business  focused training
  • Fielding requests for CBT training and assigning courses to team members
  • Identifying opportunities for new training within any/all business channels
  • Facilitating ILT training as needed


  • This position requires knowledge of and proficiency in the implementation of various training theories and models (ADDIE, Bloom’s Taxonomy, and Kirkpatrick’s Level of Evaluation).
  • Has demonstrated the ability to simultaneously create functional and productive partnerships with stakeholders, leaders, subject matter experts, and learners in multiple environments to deliver world class training programs or courses.
  • Extensive experience designing, developing, delivering training courses, curricula, and learning programs.
  • Previous expertise with Training/Authoring Software (Adobe Captivate, Lectora, and InDesign).
  • Candidate should have a high level of skill with Learning Management Systems
  • Candidate should have a high level of skill with all Microsoft Suite Products
  • Possess the ability to deliver full trainings when requested by training team or business leaders
  • Analyze training team metrics to identify opportunities for training
  • Consistently hit the monthly goals set for the team
  • Maintain a positive attitude and exude confidence when delivering or receiving feedback
  • Actively seeks coaching and feedback
  • Consistently go above and beyond training team members
  • Live and breathe our values 
  • HS diploma, bachelors degree preferred 
  • This position requires on site attendance
