Legal Assistant

The Legal Assistant will provide general administrative support for the Legal, Compliance and Vendor Relations teams. This may include typing, filing, scheduling, travel booking, coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailing, and working on special projects.


  • Coordinating with a diverse group of key external callers and visitors as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization
  • Assisting the Travel Coordinator in supporting UWM travel needs
  • Assisting the Paralegal(s) in compiling documents for subpoena and examination responses
  • Preparing slides for monthly meetings, as needed
  • Reconciling vendor invoices
  • Managing seating chart for entire team including coordinating moves
  • Managing email distribution lists
  • Coordinating activities, contests, lunches, and outings
  • Maintaining Legal/Compliance/Vendor Relations team roster
  • Completing expense reports
  • Acting as a project coordinator for special projects, at the request of leadership, which may include: planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information coordinating mailings, creating written material
  • Responsibilities may include answering and routing calls when team members are out of the office.
  • Handling confidential and non-routine information and explain policies when necessary
  • Performing secretarial and record keeping duties with various degrees of complexity
  • Typing and designing general correspondences, memos charts, tables, graphs, business plans, etc.


  • Commuicates effectively both verbally and non-verbally
  • Strong MS Office; working knowledge of excel spreadsheets; experience in using various office related tools
  • Excellent organization and client service skills
  • Service orientated – actively looking for ways to assist others
  • High School Diploma
  • This position requires on-site attendance
