At UWM, QA Architects collaborate across functional teams (developers, QA engineers, and others) to create new tools, implement new frameworks and conduct proof of concepts for new technologies. We operate in an agile environment with two-week sprints and are working towards a CI/CD model. Joining UWM as a QA Architect gives you the opportunity to make a positive impact by helping to shape the future of how people purchase a home. As a QA Architect at UWM you will work in a fast paced, results driven environment and be responsible for supporting highly scalable enterprise applications.



  • Strong understanding of industry QA and Testing standards (big data, mobile)
  • Familiar with open source automation tools and other test management systems
  • Establish QA technology standards, including but not limited to processes, frameworks, and tools
  • Experienced in designing, building and running automation framework(s)
  • Mentor and lead QA and Development engineers
  • Own the overall technical roadmap of automated testing solutions in collaboration with Architecture, Development, Release, and QA teams
  • Define and guide QA automation strategy and execution for all deliverables
  • Recommend, drive adoption, and ensure future proofing of testing frameworks
  • Design/develop and maintain KPI driven testing/automation/performance framework(s) for continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership and mentorship capability
  • Experience with RFP processes including presenting and buy-in for tools (advocate)
  • Driving optimizations with Performance and Security testing
  • Testing with release processes
  • Strong understanding of application architecture to suggest tool/process optimization
  • Consult and provide guidance for test plan/strategy (right/best fit approach)
  • Evaluate test tools (for example: automation IDE plug-ins) Provide guidance on optimizing Test Data creation and maintenance



  • 7+ Years of QA, automation and technical leadership
  • 5+ Years in Software Development (.NET stack required)
  • 5+ Years of experience using web based technologies (ASP.NET, JavaScript, CSS)
  • 4+ years hands-on experience in developing, maintaining and supporting automated test suites and performance testing
  • Relational database experience (SQL, Oracle)
  • Ability to work with limited guidance in a team environment
  • Communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple and understandable way
  • Great oral and written skills with prior liaison and collaboration experience with senior leaders
  • On-site attendance


  • Extensive exposure to micro-services architecture and systems monitoring
  • Experience with User Acceptance Test Driven Development or BDD preferred
  • Experience with QA automation in the context of CI/CD migration
  • Extensive experience with database design
  • Experience in the mortgage industry
  • Experience in an agile environment
