Technical Trainer I- Quality Assurance/Business Analyst

Information Technology is one of the fastest-growing teams within United Wholesale Mortgage and we need a rock star Technical Trainer to get our team members up and running and functioning at the highest level! We have an exciting opportunity on our IT Training team for a Technical Trainer I. You will help our Technology team member’s grow their careers by training them on our ever changing technologies and processes. You will also get to use your analytical skills in developing metrics to identify needs for future trainings.


This role focuses on the development of trainings around Business Analysis (BA) and Software Quality Assurance (QA).   


  • Partnering with IT leadership to provide accurate, relevant, and effective training
  • Develop new training courses around business analysis, software quality assurance and the SDLC
  • Formatting the content and delivery of initial and ongoing training for IT team members
  • Partnering with subject matter experts (SME) in the development of materials to teach
  • Facilitating initial and ongoing training for IT team members
  • Exploring and utilizing relevant third party resources such as Pluralsight
  • Cross-training IT team members on other roles within IT as necessary
  • Acting as a mentor to IT team members, providing 1-on-1 shadow/coaching sessions
  • Collaborating with fellow trainers within IT and other areas to help our teams fulfill their training needs


Must Have Qualifications:

  • Experience leading classroom based training in corporate environment
  • Experience working in an Agile environment as a Business Analyst or Quality Analyst
  • Strong work ethic
  • Advanced experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in managing a Learning Management System
  • Good communication and team-building skills
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • This position requires on-site attendance 

Nice to Have Qualifications:

  • Mortgage industry experience 
  • Experience with TFS or Jira
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Kanban
  • Previous experience creating test plans and test cases
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and when to practice them
    • Functional Testing (Unit, Integration, System, Smoke, End to End)
    • Non Functional Testing (Performance, Security, Usability, Compatibility)
  • Relational database experience (SQL, Oracle)
  • Experience identifying key metrics to report on during Test Execution
  • Experience with the ADDIE model of training development
