Welcome to big goals, big ambition, and big adventure. Welcome to UWM’s Business Innovation Group (BIG), a 12-month immersion program that exposes participants to numerous teams within the mortgage loan process — from Sales, Risk Management and Underwriting to Client Service, Operations, IT, and more. 


Our BIG program is a journey and along the way, you will learn a lot more than the simple functions of each business unit — you learn which role or roles inspire you the most and how each one plays a vital role in our company’s success.


Taking applications now for rotation beginning August 29th, 2022.



  • Spending 1-5 weeks learning each business units daily functions and their role in the loan process
  • Participating in hands-on experience in each team, shadowing team members in the roles, and working on different projects to assess the team's current process while discovering and proposing potential process improvements with your knowledge of your rotations and previous experience
  • Learning the entire mortgage process from the moment a loan is submitted by our clients to the end of the loan process
  • Discovering how each business unit connects to the next piece in the process and what is most interesting to you with your skillset
  • Building long-lasting relationships with all team members and leadership within the company

Unique experiences with the group also include:

  • A one-on-one mentor from UWM’s leadership team
  • A mentor from a prior BIG group or what we call a "Big Buddy"
  • One-on-one and group trainings outside of the business units
  • Monthly one-on-one meetings with BIG program leaders
  • Valuable feedback from the Team Lead at the end of each rotation


  • 1+ years of experience in an office setting
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be very comfortable with being adaptable
  • Ability to take initiative, ask questions, and utilize your findings for potential process improvements
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ability to multi-task and shift gears at any time
  • Positive attitude and curiosity to learn
  • Onsite, full-time attendance is required 9-6 PM, Monday thru Friday
