Quality Engineer II

Join our team at the most innovative and disruptive company in the fintech space and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our deployed software. We’re looking for candidates with a passion for execution to join us in this on-site role in Pontiac, Michigan. We work in a fast-paced, agile environment where code is deployed frequently, as we move toward the ability to deploy on demand. Our Quality Engineers are focused on design and structural risk. They are responsible for providing automated solutions for product validation, identifying non-functional testing opportunities for acceleration development and testing, and validating structural design, code, and test approach.

• Become a subject matter expert in UWM’s applications, automated testing tools and testing/defect management
• Design, build and manage automated test frameworks and scripts
• Actively participate in UWM’s Agile culture and framework (i.e., Continuous Improvement Culture, Scrum and Kanban Frameworks)
• Carry out functional and non-functional testing, including web accessibility, product app security, server-side load and performance, and client-side page speed
• Review results of automated tests and taking appropriate action (i.e., file defects, updating test code/data/configuration, etc.)
• Ensure that any areas not covered by automated tests are validated via alternate mechanisms
• Improve product and code testability by influencing design at the architecture phase
• Collaborate with team members in other roles, including Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Analysts, and Product Owners.
• Plan, define and execute test strategies in a multi-screen, multi-platform web application environment, and ensuring they are released to production with high quality

Must Have Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in software testing
• Strong coding skills, in one or more programming languages such as C# or Java
• Experience with automation testing frameworks: Selenium Web driver, NUnit, Postman
• Experience defining test strategies
• Proficiency testing web services or API
• Proficiency with relational databases
• Highly collaborative mindset and a good team player
• Ability to communicate complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, simple and understandable way
• Computer-related degree or equivalent experience

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Server-side load and performance testing tools like jMeter
• Mobile automation tools such as Appium, XCode and/or Android Studio
• Mortgage knowledge or experience
