As a Accounting Summer Team Member, you will work closely with one of our many finance teams, including Corporate Finance, Accounting, Risk Management/Assessment, Servicing, or Tax. You’ll have a chance to showcase your financial and technical skills, while learning how to apply that knowledge in the mortgage and fintech industry. 

 

UWM’s Summer Internship program offers 12 paid weeks of valuable experience and the opportunity to build a stronger, more competitive resume. With the experience you’ll get working at a multi-billion dollar financial company, you’ll stand out in the crowd after you graduate. Here, you’ll play an important role on a team that complements your major, while also giving you the opportunity to explore other careers that interest you by job shadowing team members and leaders in different positions across the company.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

As a summer intern, you can expect to build relationships, make connections and network with professionals and your peers. You can also expect to:

  • Work on a summer-long project adjacent to your business lane 
  • Be an important player on your designated team
  • Make connections with students from other schools
  • Develop and present business initiatives to company leaders
  • Apply your skills and talents to improving processes and workflow
  • Share ideas, offer suggestions and make an impact
  • Participate in fun off-site team-building activities
  • Play an important role in giving back to the community with a charity project that you help shape and execute
  • Have the opportunity to apply for a paid position as one of our UWM Campus Ambassadors

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

  • Graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in 2023 or 2024 (current Junior/Senior status)
  • The ability to work full time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from May 2023 through August 2023, on campus in Pontiac, Michigan
  • An openness to learning, willingness to be coached and ability to be flexible in an ever-changing industry
  • The desire to thrive in a team environment
  • A strong work ethic
  • A drive to succeed
  • On-site attendance required
